Big Al Invitational Concludes For Women's Swimming And Diving

The Princeton women's swimming and diving team finished second at its Big Al Invitational, which ended Saturday night at DeNunzio Pool.
Princeton put up 1,260.5 points, trailing Penn, who came in first with 1,587. Columbia was in third at 737.5, with Utah with 144 and Cornell with 47.
Heidi Smithwick (1:56.86) and Eleanor Sun (1:56.95) came in 1-2 in the 200 butterfly, with both below the Division I qualifying standard time. Freshman Savannah Skow won the 50 free, with fellow freshman Sophia Sunwoo in third.
Sabrina Johnston took the 100 free in 48.61, with Sunwoo and Edie Simecek in third and fourth. Princeton also went 2-3-4 in the 100 IM with Skow, Eliza Brown and Natalie Mak. Brown also earned a win in the 200 breast.
Princeton also had the top two finishing teams in the 400 free relay, with Sunwoo, Johnston, Simecek and Skow in 3:16.62 and Jenna Walters, Sun, Smithwick and Veronique Rossouw in 3:20.20.
Princeton will swim again on Jan. 9.
