Women's Swimming & Diving Wins Third-Consecutive Ivy Title

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's swimming and diving team won its third-consecutive Ivy League Championship at home in DeNunzio Pool on Saturday. The Ivy title was No. 26 in program history for the Tigers, the most of any Ivy team.
On day four of the meet, the Tigers won three events, adding to a total score of 1479 to take first place and the championship title.
In total, Princeton won 10 events including five individual swimming events, three relays and both diving events. The Tigers also set four pool records, including in the 200 freestyle relay where Princeton earned an NCAA A cut and Ivy League record.
Eleanor Sun was named the Co-High Point Swimmer of the Meet, after winning the 200 butterfly, 200 IM, 400 IM and being part of winning teams in the 400 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay. Charlotte Martinkus, who swept the diving events, was named High Point Diver of the Meet for the second time in her career.
The Tigers earned the top-two spots on the podium in the 200 butterfly, with Sun touching first (1:54.64) and Heidi Smithwick second (1:55.01). Emily Appleton finished seventh in the B final in 2:01.16.
Dakota Tucker's time of 2:11.53 in the 200 breaststroke saw her earn a first-place finish while Eliza Brown came in third with a time of 2:12.45.
Martinkus won the 3-meter diving with a score of 336.10, while Francesca Noviello took sixth after earning a score of 276.00 and Maddie Seltzer seventh with a score of 259.80. Charlotte Norman earned a score of 314.45 to win the B final.
In the 100 freestyle, Johnston touched second in 48.64, Rossouw fourth in 49.39, Noble fifth in 49.49 and Jenna Walters seventh in 49.92. In the B final, Natalie Farquhar finished second with a time of 50.16 and Edie Simecek seventh in 50.56.
The 200 backstroke saw Isabella Korbly finish fourth (1:55.54). Grace Black took second in the B final (1:56.60) and Meg Wheeler eighth (2:00.17). Alexa Pappas won the C final after touching the wall at 1:58.78.
