Shutout Weekend Earns Wright Ivy Pitcher of the Week Honor

Brielle Wright threw 13 innings for the Princeton softball team over the weekend, allowing no runs and striking out 13 batters, and the Ivy League's coaches have taken notice, recognizing her as the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week.

In Friday's single game against Yale, Wright threw six innings before handing the ball to Keala Hollenkamp to finish off the win, allowing three hits and two walks, striking out three. The next day, in the doubleheader nightcap and series finale, Wright threw all seven innings, allowing two hits and a walk, striking out a career-high 10, surpassing her previous single-game best of six, which she'd reached twice, most recently against Idaho State earlier this season.

Wright's efforts against Yale helped Princeton to a weekend sweep, the team's second consecutive weekend sweep to start the Ivy season. At 6-0 in the league, Princeton has a two-game lead over both Dartmouth and Columbia. The Tigers will visit Dartmouth this weekend for a three-game series beginning Saturday.
