Women's Lacrosse Edged By Penn, 15-12
April 16, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
A 5-0 Penn run in the first half was too much for No. 5 Princeton to overcome in a 15-12 loss to the 16th-ranked Quakers at Franklin Field.
Princeton took its first lead 9:25 into the game at 1-0 and led for 1:20 before the Quakers tied the game at 1-1 to start their run.
The Tigers would eventually claw back to tie the game a 12-12 with 8:33 to play, but Penn scored immediately out of a timeout to regain the lead and added two insurance goals down the stretch.
Orly Sedransk was tough to solve for the Princeton offense as the rookie goalkeeper set a new career high with 14 saves.
Jami MacDonald had a five-point game with three goals and two assists for Princeton. Haven Dora added a hat trick of her own with an assist as well.
Anna Brandt and Keely Block had three goals for the Quakers, but it was Regan O'Brien's career-high five goals that spurred on the Penn attack.
The loss snaps an 11-game winning streak for the Tigers who are now 11-2 overall and 4-1 in the Ivy League. Princeton sits tied atop the Ivy League standings alongside Brown -- the opponent up next for the Tigers at Sherrerd Field on April 19 at noon for Senior Day. The winner of that game will takeover sole possession of the Ivy League lead and secure at least a share of the Ivy League championship.
Yale, Penn and Cornell are all tied for third in the Ivy League at 3-2, while Harvard is sixth at 2-3. The Quakers and Big Red play on Saturday, while Yale is at Harvard.
