Hale Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week
April 07, 2025 | Softball
Following a week in which she led the team with a .571 batting average and co-led the team with six RBI, Braeden Hale has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week in a vote by the league's coaches.
Hale added a triple and a homer to two singles to slug 1.286 while going 4 for 7 at the plate, and along with a walk, Hale had an on-base percentage of .625.Â
In last Wednesday's game against Lehigh, Hale hit a sixth-inning two-run home run to pull the Tigers within 6-4 in a game Princeton came back to win 7-6. In Friday's second game at Dartmouth, Hale had an RBI each in the fourth and sixth innings on a pair of base hits that grew Princeton's lead to 6-2 in a 12-4 win, and in Sunday's game at Dartmouth, Hale's two-run triple tied the game at 6-6 as part of the 10-run sixth inning that turned a two-run deficit into an eight-run lead on the way to a run-rule win.
The Atlanta-area rookie is hitting .333 on the season with a OPS of 1.041, good for third on the team. Since March 14, Hale is hitting .529, having gone 9 for 17 in that span. All nine of her RBI on the season have come since March 14, as have both of her home runs on the season.
At 8-1 in the Ivy, Princeton holds a two-game lead on second-place Columbia with a three-game series at Cornell up next this weekend.Â
