PRINCETON, N.J. -- After a record-breaking weekend at the Ivy Outdoor Heptagonal Championships, Georgina Scoot was named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week, the organization announced Monday.
Scoot claimed two individual titles in the long jump and the triple jump at Heps, helping Princeton win its 10th all-time outdoor Ivy championship and its first Triple Crown since 2011.
In the long jump on Saturday, Scoot cleared 6.51m/21-4.25" to set a new outdoor Heps meet record. Her mark broke the previous meet record of 6.48m / 21-3.75" set by Cornell's Jeomi Maduka in 2008.
On Sunday, following up her success, Scoot soared 13.36m/43-10" to match the meet record, set when Army competed in the conference in 1990.
The award marks the first time in program history that an athlete from Princeton has been named USTFCCCA M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week.
