Cherniss and Smith Earn US U-23 Camp Invites

PRINCETON – Joely Cherniss and Ellie Smith of the Princeton Women's Rowing Team were invited to the United States U-23 Selection Camp for the 2025 World Rowing U-23 Championships in July.
Camp invitees to the U23 selection camp are competing for spots on USRowing's Under 23 National Team in the men's and women's four, quadruple sculls, and eight that will represent the U.S. at the 2025 World Rowing Under 23 Championships, July 23-27 in Poznan, Poland.
Cherniss is a two-time Ivy League 1V gold medalist, having raced all of her first two seasons on the 1V. The Tigers finished 2025 by winning the Petite Final at the NCAA Rowing Championships.
Smith saw action on the 1V and 2V this season highlighted by helping the 1V to gold at the Ivy League Rowing Championships. She also has earned a bronze medal for the 2V at the Ivy Championships last year.
