August 25, 2025 | Men's Soccer
PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton was picked to finish second in the Ivy League preseason poll, the league announced Monday.
With five first-place votes and a total of 107 poll points, the Tigers tied for second alongside Cornell, who nabbed one first-place vote.
In the poll voted on by members of the media, the Tigers are behind defending Ivy League Champion, no. 19 Penn, who took first with 10 first-place votes and 120 points.
As the reigning Ivy League Tournament Champions, the Tigers head into 2025 with several players earning preseason accolades.
Senior captain Giuliano Fravolini Whitchurch (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) was named to the MAC Hermann watch list on Thursday as one of just seven defenders and 29 players to be selected nationally.
Whitchurch, Jack Jasinski and Daniel Ittycheria were also all named to the United Soccer Coaches Players to Watch List earlier this month, with Whitchurch and Jasinski named to the defenders list and Ittycheria named a forward to watch.
Ittycheria, who was drafted by the D.C. United in December, returns to Princeton for his senior season after leading the Tigers in goals for two consecutive years.
Jasinski led the Tigers in assists in 2024 with nine, putting him third in the Princeton record book for most assists in a season.
Princeton will kick off the 2025 season at home in two weeks, as the Tigers host Jersey rival Rutgers on September 5th.
