PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 contest to Hofstra at home on Wednesday night.
With the loss, Princeton falls to 1-1 on the season, while Hofstra improves to 3-2.
How It Happened
Hofstra started pressing early, generating three corners in the first 20 minutes of action and forcing the Tigers to defend from the jump.
The Tigers would continue holding off the Pride, starting to heat up towards the end of the half with a corner in the 34th minute, but they could not solidify an opportunity to score.
Coming out of the break, Hofstra was on the attack again. A foul in the box resulted in a penalty kick, which Hofstra converted to take the lead 1-0.
Princeton would counter and build some momentum as the clock ran down, but they still could not connect to find a goal, and the 1-0 Hofstra win would stand.
