No. 4 Harvard Tops No. 8 Princeton 3-1
September 26, 2025 | Field Hockey
Bronte-May Brough scored twice off penalty corners to lead No. 4 Harvard to a 3-1 win over No. 8 Princeton on Bedford Field Friday afternoon.
The win was Harvard's seventh straight to start the season, including two in the Ivy League. Princeton fell to 4-3, with all three losses to teams ranked in the top five. The Tigers are also 1-1 in the league.
Princeton had the better of the play throughout the first 20 minutes or so before a Crimson counter led to a penalty corner and then the first goal of the day, on Harvard's first shot of the day, on a Brough reverse. The lead became 2-0 in the third quarter on another rip from Brough, and it grew to 3-0 when Sage Piekarski chipped in a rebound after a save from Olivia Caponiti early in the fourth quarter.
Ella Cashman got Princeton on the board when she finished off a feed from Anna Faulstich with seven minutes to go, but that would be as close as the Tigers would get. Cashman has scored every Princeton goal against Harvard since the start of the 2023 season, and she now has four of her 12 career goals against the Crimson.
Princeton will be at No. 10 Maryland Sunday at 2.
