Samuels Earns Second-Consecutive Ivy Defensive Player of the Week Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Winning back-to-back awards, Andrew Samuels was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week for the second-consecutive time on Monday.
The honor comes after Samuels proved the difference in Princeton's Ivy League opener on the road on Saturday as the Tigers blanked Harvard, 1-0.
Samuels shut out the Crimson making five saves, including one on a Harvard penalty kick and another on a free kick from just outside the box.
His outstanding shot-stopping ability and leadership from between the posts helped Princeton take three points home from Cambridge after the defensive battle.
With a save percentage of 0.870, Samuels ranks 10th in the nation and first in the Ivy League.
Samuels's GAA of 0.43 puts him at 13th in the nation and second in the Ivy League, and with four shutouts, he is tied for first in the league and 21st in the country.
Already looking ahead to their next game, Samuels and the Tigers will conclude their three-game road stint tomorrow as they face Army. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. in West Point.
