No. 9 Men’s Water Polo Sweeps Day 1 Of Princeton Invite

PRINCETON, N.J.- The Princeton men's water polo team kicked off NCAA play as the host of the Princeton Invite.
The Tigers started off the morning with a matchup against Mt. St Mary's before the night game against No. 14 California Baptist.
Princeton 18, Mt. St. Mary's 10
Otto Stothart got the scoring going for Princeton with his first collegiate goal less than 20 seconds into the matchup. The Tigers went on a quick 4-1 run thanks to two goals from Stothart before Taylor Bell found the back of the cage for his first collegiate tally.
Princeton's lead ballooned to 10-2 as Kovács made 11 stops in net.
Pierre du Plessis took over for Kovács in the second half. Seven different goal scorers added their names to the stat sheet as Stothart racked up five goals in his debut.
Goals: Stothart (5), Bell (2), LeSieur (2), Nuño (2), Swart (2) Appeldorn, Elahmadi, Palcza, McCarroll, Yengibaryan

Princeton 18, CBU 10
The second game of the day was a back and forth contest between Princeton and the CBU Lancers. Gavin Appeldorn helped Princeton to strike quickly. CBU tied things up 1-1, but JP Ohl's tough angle shot cashed in to give the Tigers a boost in a low scoring first quarter.
Ohl once again found the back of the cage to give Princeton a 3-1 advantage. The Lancers responded to each goal the Tigers scored before Ohl's third of the day gave the squad a three goal lead.
Princeton heated up after the halftime break with seven goals from six different Tigers. Ádám Peocz recorded a hat trick with two in the third before the Tigers closed the door on the Lancers thanks to five second half saves from Kovács.
