PRINCETON, N.J. – Owen Mellon was named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
The award comes after Mellon led the Tigers in kills for both of their season-opening games this week at #7 UC Irvine and #5 USC. With 20 kills at USC, Mellon hit a career-high.
His 20 kills on 36 swings put him at .417 hitting on the night, helping Princeton pick a set off of the fifth-ranked team in the nation.
The performance followed up another double-figure performance last Wednesday against UC Irvine, which saw Mellon hit a game-high 10 kills on 21 swings for .333 hitting.
Two games into 2026, senior captain Mellon is already off to a strong start and looking to continue his success tomorrow as the Tigers take on Concordia. First serve is set for 5 p.m. PST in Irvine, Calif.
