About The Tigers
- The Tigers most recently fell, 3-2, to #20 NJIT at home in Dillon on Saturday.
- Despite going up 2-0, the Tigers would drop it in five as NJIT rallied to get the win.
- Andrew Werner compiled a career-high 19 kills on a .371 hitting percentage in the match, while Owen Mellon added 12 kills along with a match-high four service aces.
- Nolan Kelly recorded a double-double with a team-high 40 assists, a match-high 11 digs and a match-high five blocks.
- Before that, Princeton went to California where they split a pair of ranked matchups, defeating #12 UC San Diego in a five-set thriller. The Tigers also dropped a contest to #17 CSUN.
- The Tiger defense shined against UCSD, with Kelly making six blocks and nine digs for team-highs. Mellon and Werner led on offense with 12 and nine kills apiece, respectively.
- Before that, Mellon tallied a career high 25 kills against Dominican, marking his second of the season, first making 20 kills against #5 USC in January. He now averages 3.30 a set to rank fifth in the EIVA.
- Kelly has been clutch for the Tigers, ranking second in the EIVA in digs with an average of 2.04 a set. He also ranks fifth in assists, tallying 8.04/s.
- Whitfield's 0.95 blocks a set rank sixth in the EIVA.
- Werner and Ryan Vena are in the EIVA top-10 in aces, with Vena at 7th (0.30/s) and Werner at 9th (0.28/s).
- Princeton was picked to finish fourth in the EIVA preseason poll, with Mason Rice and Vena named players to watch.
- Last year, the Tigers won the EIVA regular season championship. Ultimately, they fell to Penn State in the EIVA tournament finals.
- The Tigers are led by Head Coach Sam Shweisky, in his 17th year. He is assisted by Joe Norton, in his third.
About Charleston
- Charleston is 12-9 on the year and 3-3 in the EIVA, most recently coming off a split weekend with a 1-3 loss to Lincoln Memorial on Friday and a 3-0 sweep of Tusculum on Saturday.
- In the EIVA so far, the Golden Eagles swept Sacred Heart and split the series with George Mason. They were swept by Harvard.
- Max Nissen leads Charleston in kills with 3.40 a set and in points with 3.70 a set.
