Men's Ice Hockey Ties Bentley, 2-2
January 24, 2026 | Men's Ice Hockey
Princeton and Bentley battled to a 2-2 tie to close out a weekend series in Boston, with Bentley claiming the shootout, 3-2.
Jake Manfre and David Jacobs had the goals for Princeton. Conor Callaghan made 24 saves in goal.
Jake Manfre picked off a Bentley clearing pass in the neutral zone and proceeded to weave through one defender before roofing his 11th goal of the season over Swedin's shoulder to give Princeton a 1-0 lead.
Bentley answered just past the midway mark of the second period when Marton Nemes collected a loose puck after a David Helledy shot hit the post and tucked it in seconds after a Bentley power play had expired with 9:07 to play in the second.
The Tigers would regain the lead via a David Jacobs power-play goal with 6:10 to play in the third.
Jacobs walked right down the center of the ice off a feed from Jaxson Ezman to pick a corner with 6:10 to play, with Chris Reiniger tallying the second assist for his first collegiate point.
The Tigers had almost a minute of power play time in overtime, but could not find the game-winner in that opening 0:58 before playing the rest of overtime even.
In the shootout, Princeton received goals from Kai Daniells and David Jacobs, but Bentley netted three to secure the shootout win,
The Tigers are in ECAC play the rest of the way, starting with a road trip to Clarkson (January 30) and St. Lawrence (January 31) for 7 p.m. puck drops.
