Men's Hockey Completes Season Sweep Of Clarkson
January 30, 2026 | Men's Ice Hockey
Princeton snapped a five-game winless streak and secured three important ECAC points with a 3-1 win at Clarkson to open a weekend trip to the North Country.
The win secured a season sweep of the Golden Knights, Princeton's first since the 2008-09 season. The victory also gives Princeton wins in consecutive trips to Potsdam for the first time in program history.
Princeton holds serve in fifth place in the ECAC, improving to 12-8-1 overall and 8-5-0 in ECAC play. The Tigers have 25 points in the ECAC standings, five clear of Colgate who sits in sixth place, seven points ahead of Yale who are seventh and eight points in front of Clarkson and Union who are tied for eighth.
Conor Callaghan made 23 saves in goal.
Princeton was 3-for-3 on the penalty kill, while converting on one of its five power plays.
Neither team scored in the first period, Princeton outshooting Clarkson by an 8-5 margin.
It didn't take long for the Tigers to score in the second period when Reiniger sped down the slot to step into a David Jacobs pass and roof his first collegiate goal under the center of the crossbar 0:51 into the middle frame during a 4-on-4 sequence.
The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Tigers until Jaxson Ezman slipped open to hammer in a power-play goal 1:15 into the third period. Ezman won the faceoff back to Reiniger who banked a pass off the board to Jacobs behind the goal line for a one-touch dish back to Ezman who one-timed a slapshot from the left circle into the back of the net for a two-goal Tiger lead.
A Callaghan save with 1:33 left and the Golden Knights playing with an extra attacker kept the Tigers in front and set the stage for Brendan Gorman to win a foot race and put in an empty netter with 0:30 to play.

Chris Reiniger had the best night of his young collegiate career, scoring his first goal as a Tiger and adding an assist for his first career multi-point game. Jaxson Ezman (1g, 1a) and David Jacobs (2a) also had multi-point efforts for the Tigers.Grab That Puck!
