Women's Swimming & Diving Takes Down Penn State on Senior Day, 196-98

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's swimming & diving team earned a 196-98 triumph over Penn State on Senior Day Saturday inside DeNunzio Pool.
Prior to the meet, the Tigers' Class of 2026 was honored; Eliza Brown, Margaret Hayes, Sabrina Johnston, Charlotte Martinkus, Heidi Smithwick and Meg Wheeler.
The meet began with a win in the 200 medley relay, as the quartet of Delaney Herr, Smithwick, Johnston and Sophia Sunwoo finished with a time of 1:38.71.
Princeton also won the 400 freestyle relay after Johnston, Sunwoo, Smithwick and Veronique Rossouw finished in 3:17.61.
Eleanor Sun earned a first place finish (1:47.21) in the 200 freestyle while Natalie Farquhar took third (1:49.47) and Nicole De Pree fifth (1:55.04).
The top three spots in the 100 backstroke went to Princeton; Johnston was first (52.83), Edie Simecek second (54.33) and Wheeler third (56.55).
The top three spots in the 100 freestyle also went to the Tigers. Johnston touched the wall first (49.12), Sun second (50.09) and Rossouw third (50.17). De Pree also finished fifth (50.95).
The 200 backstroke was another event where Princeton earned the top three finishes. Grace Black picked up the win (1:58.86), Kim took second (1:59.05) and Herr third (1:59.28).
Brown earned the victory (1:02.27) in the 100 breaststroke while Sophie Segerson finished third (1:03.72) and Katherine Sanders (1:04.68).
Brown also won (2:14.58) the 200 breaststroke, an event where Natalie Mak finished fourth (2:22.10) and Sanders fifth (2:22.32).
Smithwick's second win (1:57.25) of the meet came in the 200 butterfly. Savannah Skow took second (1:58.57).
Kim's time of 4:48.09 in the 500 freestyle saw her earn a first place finish while Segerson was third (4:55.84) and Farquhar fifth (4:57.89).
The 50 freestyle saw Sunwoo touch the wall first in 22.53 and Rossouw second (23.03).
Martinkus won the 1-meter diving with a score of 309.15 and Charlotte Norman finished second (286.65).
On the 3-meter board, Martinkus finished second (300.98), Norman third (282.98), Vivian Brennan fourth (282.83) and Maggie Squire fifth (282.83).
The 1,000 freestyle saw Chloe Kim come in second (9:48.13) and Mak fourth (10:29.85).
Skow finished second (52.85) in the 100 butterfly and Sunwoo was fourth (54.47).
Sun's time of 1:58.35 in the 200 IM saw her finish second while Skow finished third (1:59.48) and Brown fifth (2:05.36).
