Princeton Rolls Past Fordham, Hosts St. John's Sunday
January 31, 2026 | Women's Tennis
Isabella Chhiv and Madeleine Jessup put up matching 6-1, 6-0 singles win as the Princeton women's tennis team rolled to a 4-0 win over Fordham Saturday afternoon at the Si Qin Family Indoor Tennis Center.
The doubles point was very much up in the air after Chhiv and Eva Elbaz won at No. 3 6-2 and Fordham's Julianne Nguyen and Nevena Kolarevic won at No. 1, leaving the point to be decided at the No. 2 match. That set was 4-4 when the other two matches ended before Tsehay Driscoll and Alice Ferlito won the final two games, ending the set at 6-4 and making it 1-0 Tigers.
After that, it was all Princeton. Chhiv (No. 2) and Jessup (No. 5) ended almost simultaneously, and Elbaz came back from being down 5-4 in the first set to win her match at No. 3 7-5, 6-1. Princeton was up a set on each of the other three courts when the match ended.
The win improved the Tigers to 3-0 on the young season heading into Sunday's match at home against St. John's (start time is 5). There will be a tripleheader in the building Sunday, beginning with the men's matches against Liberty at 10 and Virginia Tech at 3.
