Princeton Takes Down Michigan State 4-1
February 13, 2026 | Women's Tennis
The Princeton women's tennis team went into the Big Apple and came back with a Big Ten win.
The Tigers, playing on a neutral court at Columbia, took down Michigan State 4-1, improving to 7-1 while handing the Spartans their first loss in six matches. The match was the first away from home for either team.
Princeton won the doubles point, with a 6-1 win at No. 2 from Isabella Chhiv and Eva Elbaz followed quickly by a 6-2 win at No. 1 from Tsehay Driscoll and Pearlie Zhang. The Tigers took the first two singles matches to finish, as Zhang won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6 and Madeleine Jessup won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4.
Zhang's win continued her strong run dating to last weekend's ECAC Championships. In her last six matches between singles and doubles, the sophomore is now 5-0 with one doubles set that wasn't completed; in the other five matches, she has played seven sets, winning them all, and has not dropped more than two games in any of them.
After a Michigan State win at No. 5, Chhiv closed things out with a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 2.
Princeton is now off for eight days, until a pair of matches in Florida next weekend. a
