Shaw, Ratcheson Win Ivy League Weekly Honors

Princeton softball collected a pair of Ivy League weekly awards Monday as junior pitcher Cassidy Shaw was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week and freshman Maddie Ratcheson earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors.
Shaw delivered a strong weekend in the circle, earning wins in both of her appearances. The junior highlighted her week with a complete-game victory over Notre Dame, allowing just one run on seven hits and one walk while striking out six in Princeton's 4-1 win. She also picked up the win in relief later in the weekend, tossing two innings against the University of San Diego.
Ratcheson put together a strong weekend at the plate, recording a hit in all four games while batting .357 (5 for 14) with six RBI on the weekend. The freshman drove in three of Princeton's four runs in the victory over Notre Dame and added a home run against San Diego State.
Princeton will close its weekend with a Monday night game against the University of San Diego before returning to campus for its home-opening weekend Saturday and Sunday against Binghamton.
