Mark Zalewski had a career year as a senior, earning third-team ACWPC All-America honors and first-team All-South and All-East reognition. He was also named The Daily Princetonian's Athlete of the Year after he scored a career-high 57 goals to lead the Tigers. Zalewski added 18 assists, 29 steals and had a 9-5 record on sprints. Zalewski scored goals in 23 of Princeton's 28 games and had more than one goal in 17 contests. He had a season-high of six goals in a win against George Washington, and scored five in a win at GW. He added four goals in a loss to Bucknell and a win at Johns Hopkins. Zalewski scored goals in seven of Princeton's eight postseason games, scoring five goals at Southerns, four at Easterns and three at NCAAs, including a pair in Princeton's consolation-game win over Loyola Marymount. Zalewski had a season-high four assists in a win at Redlands.
Zalewski put up very similar stats as a junior to his sophomore season, scoring 38 goals and adding 19 assists and 10 steals. Zalewski ranked fifth on the team in scoring and was second in assists. He scored a season-high four goals in two games, netting four in wins over George Washington and Johns Hopkins. He alsoscored three goals in a regular season win over Bucknell and in the Eastern quarterfinals against MIT. Zalewski added four assists in wins over Iona and George Washington.
Zalewski ranked second on the team with 36 goals as a sophomore. In addition, he provided 19 assists and 31 steals. Zalewski posted a career-high six goals in a loss to Bucknell. That performance came during an early-season 11 game-scoring streak in which Zalewski scored 25 goals in the span. Zalewski also had four three-goal performances, a three-assist game against Fordham and a five-steal game against George Washington.
Zalewski scored 21 goals in 25 games at Princeton as a freshman. He also added nine assists and eight steals. Zalewski scored three goals during the season-opening Princeton Invitational and had a season-high four goals in a league win at George Washington. Zalewski also had one three-goal game, which came against Harvard at the ECAC Championships.
Zalewski co-captained his team at Kirkwood High School as a senior and was named the Missouri Offensive Player of the Year after a 134-goal season. A four-year varsity starter, Zalewski was his conference’s Player of the Year twice and was a St. Louis Post-Dispatch scholar athlete as a senior. Zalewski was also an all-state swimmer.
