Rabbi Elie Bercuson is the director of the Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus at the Center for Jewish Life.
He is a native of Ottawa, Ontario, where he developed passions for ice hockey, running in cold weather, and the French language.
He holds a Bachelor of Humanities in Philosophy and Classics from Carleton University in Ottawa and an M.A. in Jewish Philosophy from Yeshiva University.
He is ordained both by the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary at Yeshiva University and by Rabbi Shlomo Riskin of Efrat, Israel.
He has worked in a rabbinic capacity at synagogues in New York City, Connecticut, and Chicago, and has trained in hospital and military chaplaincy.
He is married to Ilana. His infant son, Dov, he eagerly awaits teaching how to skate.
