Eric Murphy appeared in nine game for Princeton as a junior and contributed with two assists and two steals. As a sophomore, he chipped in three goals for the second consecutive season for the Tigers. Murphy scored his first of the season in a win over Navy and then scored two in the Tigers’ Southern’s win over Grove City College. A season earlier, Murphy also added two assists and six steals.

He co-captained his swim team as a junior and his water polo team as a senior at La Cañada High School. In both 2001 and 2002, he was named to the all-CIF third team and to the Rio Hondo first team. Murphy was also a Rob Thompson Athletic Scholar in high school.
