Ranked No. 7 nationally by CSA at end of his sophomore season and earned All-America and All-Ivy honors ... went 7-4 as a sophomore, playing at No. 2 during the second half and entire postseason ... defeated Trinity’s Gustav Detter, who knocked him out of 2006 national tournament, in second round of CSA national individual championships; lost in quarterfinals to finalist and teammate Mauricio Sanchez ... ranked No. 13 nationally by the CSA at the end of his freshman season ... earned second-team All-America honors and first-team All-Ivy honors ... went 11-2 during his first season, including an impressive 3-0 during the national team tournament ... advanced to the second round of the Potter Cup before falling to eventual semifinalist Detter ... never played below No. 4 as a freshman and peaked at No. 2 in victory over Franklin & Marshall ... claimed postseason wins over both Trinity and Yale; win over Trinity came against No. 11 player Sahil Vora in five games.

Developed his game in Cairo before spending a year on the Lawrenceville squad ... along with current teammate Mauricio Sanchez, led Lawrenceville to the national team high school squash championship.

Born July 13, 1988 ... son of Faisal El Halaby and Azza Al Qudwa ... has a brother Yasser ’06 and sister Salma ... brother is the only player in the history of collegiate men’s squash to win the national individual championship four times; he also led Princeton to two Ivy League titles and two national team finals, including one during Hesham’s freshman season.
