John Gager

John Gager is an Academic-Athletic Fellow with the women's soccer and women's track and field programs and is a William H. Danforth Professor of Religion, Emeritus.
Gager joined the Princeton faculty in 1968, focusing on the religions of the Roman Empire, including early Christianity and ancient Judaism. He served as Master of Forbes College from 1992-2000 and retired from his professorship in 2006.
Gager received his bachelor's degree and his Master's of Divinity from Yale and his Ph.D from Harvard.
