Men’s Lightweight Rowing Earns IRCA Coaching Staff of the Year Award

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) announced another round of postseason honors Friday, and the Princeton University men's lightweight rowing team's coaching staff was named Coaching Staff of the Year.
The Tigers' staff, consisting of Matt Smith, David Burke, Rich Fahsbender (Performance Coach) and Palmer Trilli (Athletic Trainer) received the IRCA's top coaching accolade.
Princeton's staff guided Princeton to the program's 17th Jope Cup championship for most team points at Eastern Sprints, along with a 3V gold medal and silver medals for the 1V and 2V. At the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship Regatta, the Tigers' staff led Princeton to a second-place finish in the team point standings in addition to a 2V silver medal and a 2V bronze medal.
The honor adds to a growing list for the Tigers' staff; it was named Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year and Smith was honored as the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) Coach of the Year.
