Neil Little, a two-time Calder Cup champion playing goal for the American Hockey League’s Philadelphia Phantoms, is in his third season working with the Princeton goaltenders.
Little spent eight of his 12 professional seasons with the AHL’s Philadelphia Phantoms after being drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 11th round (226th overall) of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. In 1997-98, he backstopped the club to its first Calder Cup championship and was also a member of the Phantoms during their championship run in 2005. Little has been a Phantoms nominee as AHL Man of the Year for community and charitable work, and has also been a club representative at the AHL All-Star Classic.
Little was an All-America goaltender in college at Rensselaer, and he was inducted into the RPI athletic Hall of Fame in October. Little holds the school record for career wins (58) and is second in numerous career categories, including saves (2,930), games in goal (110), games started (105) and minutes (6301:57). He was twice named the team’s Most Valuable Player, was a member of the ECAC All-Rookie Team as a freshman, was twice named to the All-ECAC team and was a Hobey Baker Award finalist.
