Tigers Take Third In ECAC Men's Water Polo Tournament

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After dropping its second game of the season on Saturday night, the Princeton men's water polo team rebounded to take third place at the 1999 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament with an 8-6 win over Queens at Brown University.
In a low scoring game, six of Princeton's eight points came on two-point goals, including a full court goal by keeper Jon Pharris (So., Newport Beach, Calif.). Pharris also tallied 10 saves in the cage for the Tigers. Marshall Roslyn (So., Philadelphia, Pa.) and Jimmy Orozco (Jr, San Mateao, Calif.) also tallied two-point goals for Princeton, while Robert Urquhart (Fr., Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Paul Javier (Sr., Palo Alto, Calif) added one-point goals.
With the win, the Tigers set a University record for wins in a season with 17, surpassing last season's total of 16.
Princeton is now 17-2, 8-0 CWPA on the year and will return this weekend as it host the 1999 Southern Division Championship at DeNunzio Pool. The Tigers' first game will be against Grove City on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 9 a.m.
