- Phil Wendler (Jr., Kent, Washington) was named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week after catching 10 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown. His 10 receptions were the most by a Princeton player since 1988
- John Burnham (Sr., Washington, D.C.) completed 22 of 35 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns, all career highs
- Nathan McGlothlin (Sr., McLean, Va.) carried 17 times for 71 yards and the tying touchdown with three minutes remaining as Princeton rallied from a 24-10 fourth quarter deficit

- D-plus - Princeton's defense has not allowed a touchdown in its last three games (this year against Cornell, last year against Yale and Dartmouth). The only touchdown scored against Princeton in that time was on a blocked punt.
- You call this a road trip? - It is 64 miles from Princeton to
Bethlehem,
Pa. Princeton made eight trips to games last year that were longer, with
an average distance for the year of 160 miles.
- The whammy - Steve Tosches has won eigth straight Week 2 games and is
9-1-1 in his career in Week 2.
- Yard work - Princeton ranks 64th in Division I-AA in total defense

yards per game) and first in scoring defense (0.0 points per game).
- Good omen - Princeton has averaged 7.8 wins per year the last four

second-best single-game average in school history. Evans now has the five
best single-game averages in school history.
- Kick me II - Alex Sierk moved into second place all-time on
Princeton's
career field goals list with 28, one better than Charlie Gogolak '66.
Sierk trails Chris Lutz '91, who is first with 32.
- More kicks - Matt Evans ranks second in Division I-AA in punting
average
(49.0 yards per kick), Wayne Scholobohm of Dartmouth ranks first at 49.6.
Alex Sierk ranks second in Division I-AA in field goals per game (2.0).
- What does the media know? - The four winners in Week 1 in the Ivy
League
were picked third (Penn), fourth (Princeton), seventh (Columbia) and
eighth (Yale) in the preseason media poll.
- Everybody loves Raymond - Ray Canole has caught at least three passes
in 11 straight games.
- Crossing the line - Princeton's two converted offensive players
combined for 11 tackles in their defensive debut. Gerry Giurato, last
year's leading rusher, had seven tackles, while Brian Latzke had four
tackles after moving from offensive line to defensive line.
- The end of the line - Princeton's two defensive ends accounted for all
three sacks (two by David Ferrara, one by Dan Swingos).
- An average Joe - A passing efficiency rating of 100.0 is designed to
reflect the average of every college quarterback for the last 10 years.
John Burnham's Week 1 passing efficiency rating was 99.79.
- Catching on - Ryan Crowley caught a career-high six passes against
Cornell.
- Crowd control - Princeton averaged 10,241 fans for the final season at
Palmer Stadium. The game against Cornell drew 27,800 fans to Princeton
Stadium for the first sell-out since 1964.
- Welcome back - Derek Theisen carried once for eight yards against
Cornell.
It was his first carry in two years after taking last year off from
school.
- Veterans' day - Justin Bennett has started 21 straight games at
tackle, he
is the only offensive or defensive player to have started every game since
opening day 1996.
- Non-veterans' day - Sophomore tight end Djordje Citovic caught his
first
career pass, for 18 yards.

- ury update - Ryan Demler left the Cornell game with dehydration, he
is
expected to be 100% this week.
- Down on the corner - Cornerback Gerry Wilson had a career-high 10
tackles,
as well as the interception that sealed the game on the 20-yard line with
27 seconds remaining.
- Home field advantage - The win over Cornell snapped Princeton's
five-game
home losing streak to Ivy League teams.
- Clamping down - Cornell made it past the Princeton 35-yard line five
times
in the second half without scoring.
- Shutting down - Princeton's shutout of Cornell was its first
opening-day
shutout since an 18-0 win over the Big Red in 1991.
- Almost shutting down - The last time Princeton went without a touchdown on opening day was 1983, when it lost to Dartmouth 21-3.
