November 01, 2025 | Football
ITHACA – The Cornell Big Red defeated the Princeton Football Team, 20-17, at Schoelkopf Field on Saturday afternoon.
Josh Robinson got the road squad in the end zone on this incredible run from 27-yards out on the first drive of the contest.
Evan Haynie forced and recovered a Cornell fumble on the next possession, but Princeton had to punt and it was a good one as Brady Clark drilled a boomer that was downed at the 1-yard line.
Following a three and out forced by the Tigers' defense, Princeton went down the field again with Ethan Clark finishing off the drive with a four-yard touchdown.
Cornell responded with a touchdown as the second quarter started.
Esteban Nunez Perez added a 21-yard field goal to give the Tigers a 17-7 advantage at halftime.
The Big Red scored on its first drive of the second half. After getting a turnover, Cornell's Garrett Bass-Sulpizio was stopped on fourth down by Chase Christopher and AJ Pigford at the Princeton eight-yard line.
Cornell got another turnover and then had a 14-yard touchdown reception from Ryder Kurtz to go in front, 20-17.
Princeton was forced to punt and Cornell ran off 6:21 of game time before a tackle for loss from Stephen Ordille on 3rd down allowed head coach Bob Surace's unit one more opportunity. The Tigers got to the Cornell 37-yard line but could not get any closer.
Roman Laurio had a career-high 97 yards receiving while Clark had 113 all-purpose yards. Nasir Hill paced the Tigers with 11 tackles while Haynie rang the bell twice, adding a pick in the loss.
Princeton dropped to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the Ivy League while Cornell improved to the same marks. The Tigers head back on the road to take on Dartmouth next Saturday (Nov. 8). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
