Langlas Scores 23 to Lead Tigers Over Bucknell

PRINCETON, N.J. - Princeton's Maggie Langlas (Jr., Missoula, Mont.) went 10-for-10 from the free throw line, 8-of-8 in the final two minutes, as the Tigers picked up their first victory of the season in a 61-50 win over Bucknell.
After a close played opening minutes, Tesa Ho (Jr., Honolulu, Hawaii) scored six of her eight first half points in the final two minutes of the half to give the Tigers a 29-22 lead going into intermission.
The Tigers extended their lead to 11 in the second half, holding the Bison to 33 percent shooting. In their finest showing of the year, Langlas and Ho provided the glue to keep Princeton together down the stretch. The two combined for 10-21 shooting from the floor, while the rest of the team went 10-34.
Princeton's pressure defense forced 23 turnovers, 15 in the first half, resulting in 23 Tiger points. The Tigers extended their lead to 14 when the Bison went for nine minutes without a field goal.
Langlas led all scores with 23, 13 coming in the second half. Langlas was tied with Lea Ann Drohan (Sr., Ballston Lakes, NY) with four rebounds on the night. Besides going a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe, Langlas collected four steals and handed out two assists.
Ho finished with a career-high 13 points, three steals and two blocks. She had a crucial steal and three-point play in the final minute of the game.
Bucknell's Lori Houck scored 18 points and had five rebounds in the losing effort.
The Tigers are now 1-2 on the young season, while Bucknell falls to 3-2.
Princeton hits the highway this weekend, starting a 12-game road trip, beginning with a pair of games at the Hawkeye Classic hosted by the University of Iowa. Princeton opens the tournament against Iowa on Nov. 28th at 1:00 pm.
