August 18, 1999 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON, N.J. - Princeton's Hillary Reser (Fr., Beaverton, Ore.) hit five of six from behind the arc and knocked down a pair from the line to lead the Princeton Tigers over the New York Gazelles 75-67 in a scrimmage at Jadwin Gym tonight.
The Tigers have been out of action the past two weeks due to semester exams and returned to Jadwin for only their third appearance of the season.
The Tigers showed few signs of rust as they got off to a hot start leading to a 44-29 advantage going into the intermission. Reser sparked a first half run, going 4-for-4 from the field, all from downtown, in the opening period.
Princeton held off a late run by the Gazelles, a team of former Division I college players, for the eight-point victory.
Kate Thirolf (Jr., Rockville, Md.) chipped in 14 points and two steals. Princeton's leading scorer Maggie Langlas (Jr., Missoula, Mont.) added only four points but led the team with eight rebounds.
The Tigers (8-7, 3-0 Ivy) will host Ivy foe Columbia on Friday, Jan. 29th. Game time is slated for 7:00 pm.
