- Homecoming queen - Junior Erica Bowman returns home this weekend for games at Xavier and Dayton. The Covington native starred at Covington High School, earning 11 varsity letters - four in basketball, three in volleyball and two each in track and softball. The three-time all league MVP led Covington to the 1995-96 sectional championship.
- Center of Attention - Princeton center Lea Ann Drohan leads the team
with
12 blocks on the season. As a team, Xavier has tallied nine rejections in
eight games this season.
- Minute woman - Sophomore guard Jessica Munson averaged four minutes
last
season and 17 minutes in the first three games. In the last four games,
Munson has started and averaged 37.0 minutes.
- Unlucky highway - The Tigers are 1-5 on their current road trip. On
the
road this year, Princeton is averaging 49.2 points while giving up just
under 60 points per contest. Xavier is 3-0 at home this season while
posting an average of 87.3 points per game.
- Gotta have the board - In its six losses this season, Princeton was
outrebounded by over 12 boards per game. In Saturday's game at Siena, the
Tigers were outrebounded 44-21. Princeton held a 10 board advantage in
each of its two wins this season.
- Good news, bad news - The TIgers are holding their opponents to 58.5 points per game. The Muskateers are averaging 78.5 points per contest.
- Bombs Away - Kate Thirolf is fifth all-time in career three-pointers
attempted with 300. She needs five more trys to take over the fourth
place spot held by Laura Leacy who tallied 304 from 1990-94.
- Bombs Away II - Maggie Langlas leads the Tigers in three-pointers made with
12. Her 82 career treys notch her in sixth place all-time, five behind
Andrea Razi '96 who graduated with 87 career long distance shots.
- I'm honored - Princeton's Ivy honor roll athlete for last week was
Jessica
Munson who scored 18 points in a pair of games, including a career-high 12
at Siena. Munson also had seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals
in the two games.
- P.T. for L.R. - Forward Lauren Rigney is the only freshman to have
played
in all eight games this season and is averging 15 minutes per contest.
She scored a career-high 11 points at Rider.
- In case you missed it - The Tigers are coming off a 60-49 loss at
Siena
last Saturday. A six minute scoring drought in the second half hampered
Princeton and forced them to play catch-up. The St. Bernards hit six of
eight free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
- Stop thief! - Maggie Langlas had 22 steals in 12 non-Ivy games last
year.
She has 22 swipes already this year in 8 games out of league competition.
- No Ho for the holidays - Last week junior forward Tesa Ho was dismissed from the team for the remainder of the season due to an infraction in team rules. Ho was averaging 7.7 points and 3.2 rebounds in six games this year.
