The Princeton - Yale game is one of many events across the nation honoring National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Established by Congress in 1987, this special day calls attention to the positive influence of sports and fitness participation and seeks to advance the struggle for equality and access for women in sports. The day is organized nationally by Girl Scouts of the USA, Girls Incorporated, the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport, the Women's Sports Foundation and the YMCA of the USA.
