PRINCETON, N.J. - The Tigers took a disappointing 4-10 loss on Sunday afternoon at the hands of the University of Massachusetts in the North/South Invitational.
Princeton earned a 3-0 record over the course of the weekend going into the game and held a 12-5 season mark. Its most recent win over St. Francis in yesterday's competition was an emotional win that avenged a loss suffered earlier in the season, but could not ride the positive wave into the match-up with the Minutemen.
The Tigers couldn't take advantage of opportunity, as they failed to make good on situations when they had an extra man due to 12 Umass ejections. Princeton converted only 2-12 opportunities offensively when it was a man up.
Kevin Foster (Davis, Calif.) scored two goals in the game, followed by one goal efforts from Drew Jones (Palos Verdes, Calif.) and Chris Lesser (San Diego, Calif.).
Princeton (12-6) will travel to Johns Hopkins for its next game on Friday, Oct. 6 at 7:30.
