Men's Water Polo Falls In ECAC Championship Game

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton men's water polo team lost a tough game to St. Francis 15-10 on Sunday afternoon in the ECAC Championship game held at DeNunzio Pool.
The Tigers got a five goal performance from Robert Urquhart, which was followed by two goals from Chris Gratian. Three more Princeton team members rounded out the scoring with one goal apiece.
Princeton reached the championship game by beating Bucknell 12-7 on Saturday morning in its first game. Freshman Kevin Murray had a great game in goal making 10 saves. Kevin Foster led the team with four goals and Drew Jones added two.
The Tigers then faced Queens on Saturday night and lost 6-5. Despite 10 saves from goalkeeper Jon Pharris, Princeton could not hold on to the lead. Queens outscored the Tigers 4-2 in the fourth quarter to steal the victory. Foster led the team for the second consecutive game with two goals.
The next opponent was Massachusetts, in what was considered a must win game in order to make it to the championship. Urquhart scored five goals in a 10-9 victory, including the game-winning goal with 1:21 remaining in the game. Foster assisted Princeton with additional offense scoring three goals and Chris Gratian chipped in two.
