Princeton Tops Cornell, 8-1 At Jadwin

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Tigers opened their season with a win over Cornell, Sunday at Jadwin Gymnasium. Seniors Julia Beaver (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Meredith Quick (Lakewood, Colo.) started the Tigers off strong with consecutive 3-0 wins.
Princeton also received a strong performance from freshman Akanksha Hazari (Hong Kong), who was playing in her first collegiate match. The Tigers dominated from start to finish and got a great effort out of Helen Smith (Bel Air, Md.), who lost her match 3-2 but battled Cornell's Lisa Marx throughout the five games.
The Tigers head up to Rhode Island to face Brown on December 2nd, at 11 a.m..
