COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Connecticut ace Barbara Cook allowed two hits over seven shutout innings to lead the Huskies to a 1-0 victory over Princeton in the second day of the Terrapin Invitational. Princeton ace Sarah Peterman was also superb, limiting Connecticut to two hits over six innings. An unearned run scored by Sarah Sandford in the third inning was enough to send Princeton to the loss.
Vicki Siesta and Lauren Poniatowski had the only hits for Princeton, although neither came after the fourth inning. A walk to Jen Neil in the sixth inning was the only baserunner Cook would allow in the final three innings.
Peterman allowed a hit in both the first and second innings before throwing five innings of no-hit softball. She allowed only one walk, although it was to Sandford in the third inning. Two errors allowed her to move around the bases for the game's only run.
