Five to Join Reigning Ivy Champ Softball Team from Class of 2030

As the Princeton softball team gets set to defend what was its fifth straight Ivy League title, the Tigers will welcome five members from the Class of 2030 to the program as Sophia Cain, Jordyn Wilkerson, Kamryn Aoki, Kaitlyn Dzialo and Ashley Bui join the Tigers.

#1 Sophia Cain
Hometown: Owensboro, Ky.

Position: Pitcher

Cain on Princeton: I chose Princeton University because it provides the ideal balance between elite academics and high-level athletics. I saw a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity laid out in front of me and could not pass it up. The energy and complete acceptance the University and the softball program offers is what makes Princeton so unique to me, and I am proud to be part of such an amazing group.

Wilkerson on Princeton: I chose Princeton because of the community inside the school and outside the school. The community gave me a sense of home away from home. I also have always wanted to get a higher education at a prestigious school, so coming to Princeton allows me to get the best of both with a world-class education and competitive softball program.
Fun Fact: I am the first person from my high school to go to Princeton.

Aoki on Princeton: I chose Princeton because I felt it was the perfect place to receive the highest level of education while also competing at the highest level for softball. The opportunities and connections that Princeton provides are one of a kind, and the program consistently competes for Ivy League titles and NCAA Tournament berths. I am also a big believer in team culture, and Princeton softball fosters an environment that I feel I can thrive in. Overall, choosing Princeton University as the place to continue my academic and athletic journey was an easy decision.
Fun Fact: I played baseball until I was 12 before switching over to softball, and I ran a half marathon with no training just because.

Dzialo on Princeton: I chose Princeton because from the moment I stepped onto campus and met the coaches and team, it felt like home. Everyone says that you will just know when it is the right place for you and I didn't believe that until I felt it. Princeton felt like home. The community, academics and athletics are one of a kind, and I could never pass up the opportunity to be able to come here. The coaches and team are so welcoming and it has felt like I have known them my whole life. I am excited for the new challenges that await me and meeting people from all different walks of life, while also taking advantage of all the wonderful opportunities Princeton has to offer.
Fun Fact: I was a competitive gymnast for 10 years.
