Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Princeton men's (5-0) swimming and diving team defeated Rutgers Friday night winning nine out of 16 events. The Tigers coasted to a 187-113 victory.
Kevin Volz (9:13.88), Juan Valdivieso (9:27.78) and Paul Cremer (9:34.03) took the top three places in the 1,000 free on the men's side. Lance Needham (4:02.82), Matt Harrigan (4:05.42) and Cremer (4:06.25) swept the 400 IM. Volz also won the 500 free (4:30.93). Craig Wales won the 100 fly (50.08), Jesse Gage won the 100 free (45.69) and Chris Cunningham won the 200 free (1:41.81). Michael Sullivan won the 3-meter dive and placed second in the 1-meter. Gage, Mike Salerno, Nathan Rebuck and Jamie Leahy won the 400 free relay.
The men's team will compete at Dartmouth on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 10:00 a.m.
