No. 18 Men's Swimming & Diving Picks Up All-America Honorable Mention at NCAAs, Day One

ATLANTA, G.A. – No. 18 Men's Swimming & Diving earns an All-American Honorable Mention on the first day of NCAA Competition.
The quartet of Arthur Balva, Mitchell Schott, Parker Lenoce and Patrick Dinu placed tenth in the nation in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 6:09.16.
The time they set in the prelims also set a new program record, while also beating defending champions, the University of California.
This is the first time a relay has scored in the NCAA Championships since 2016.
Santiago Gutierrez also swam in the prelims for the 1650 yard freestyle where he finished eighth with a time of 15:05.96. This time placed him 26th in the nation.
Competition continues tomorrow with prelims beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by finals at 6:00 PM.
