PRINCETON, N.J. - Sophomore D.J. Halliday (Orinda, Calif.) and freshmen Sean Mcintire (Long Beach, Calif.) and Scott Zawilski (Kingston, Pa.) registered two goals each as Princeton defeated Grove City, 12-1 in the opening day of the crossover CWPA league weekend, hosted by Princeton University.
The Tigers opened the scoring with a goal junior Kevin Foster (Davis, Calif.) but Grove City tied the score at 5:57 of the first quarter with a goal from Matt Gibson. Princeton wasted little time in in taking control of the game, as the Tigers opened up a 7-1 lead by the end of the first quarter, and a 10-1 lead at the half
A total of eight other players registered a goal for Princeton as they cruised to the 12-1 victory
Princeton will play tomorrow at 4:15 aginst the the winner of bracket D, which includes Washington & Jefferson, Bucknell and George Washington.
