Philadelphia, Pa. - Senior Matt Behncke scored once and picked up an assist as Princeton knocked off Pennsylvania on homecoming day in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers' 3-0 win is the ninth shutout of the season and gives Princeton an 8-2-5 overall record.
Matt Douglas scored his first goal of the season in the eighteenth minute giving Princeton the early lead. Tiger assist leader Ryan Rich picked up his eighth assist on the play, Lucas Moskowitz was also credited with an assist. Behncke made the score 2-0 midway through the second half and then connected with Moskowitz at 68:02 to put the game away.
Both Behncke and Moskowitz earned three points on the day. Behncke has 16 points on the year, Moskowitz has seven. Jason White registered two saves in goal and moved his goals-against average to 0.71 on the season
The Quakers outshot Princeton 12-8 and finished with seven more corner kicks, but the Tigers improve to 4-1-1 in conference play while Penn drops to 2-3 in the Ivy League. Princeton heads to Lehigh on Tuesday, Nov. 6 and wraps up the regular season with Yale at home on Saturday, Nov. 10.
