Princeton, N.J. - Princeton University divers commenced the Princeton Invitational with a dominating performance against Harvard. The Tigers took the top spot in the women's 1- and 3-meter competition as well as on the men's 3-meter board.
Katherine Mattison took first in the 1-meter with 293.17 points and Danielle Stamandi finished second with 288.68 points. Both scores qualify the divers for the NCAA Zone A Championship in March. Stamandi also qualified for the 3-meter competition with her first-place tally of 275.10. Mattison finished second in the 3-meter with a 262.21. Mary Mulcare placed third to give the Tigers a 1-2-3 finish on the 3-meter board.
Kent DeMond led the men with yet another NCAA Zonal Championship qualifying mark of 323.55 on the 3-meter board. DeMond won the event, ahead of Princeton teammate Michael Sullivan who recorded a score of 306.55.
The swimming portion of the Princeton Invitational will take place on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 9 a.m.
