Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton women's basketball team travels south to Louisiana for three games in five days beginning on Monday, Dec. 17 at Nicholls State. The Tigers boast a 4-3 overall record and are in the midst of a six-game road swing.
Princeton heads to Louisiana with four players averaging double figures. Junior Allison Cahill leads the team with a 12.9 point per game average, freshman Karen Bolster is scoring 12 points per contest, junior Maureen Lane is averaging 11.4 points per game while sophomore Kelly Schaeffer is scoring at a 10.1 point per game clip. The Tigers will most likely be without the services of their lone senior, Lauren Rigney, who is doubtful with lower back pain.
Princeton is 1-2 in away contests this season. The Tigers defeated St. Francis in Brooklyn, but lost to Delaware and Army on the road. Monday's game against Nicholls State is in Thibodaux, La. Princeton then heads to New Orleans to face UNO on Wednesday and then the Tigers battle Centenary in Shreveport, La. on Friday. All three contests are 8 p.m. Eastern starts and all three are first-ever meetings between programs.
Princeton will be looking to score their average of 70 points per game. The Tigers are 4-0 when they reach the 70-point mark and 0-3 when they do not. Princeton is also undefeated when its bench outscores its opponents' bench and winless when the bench fails to do so. Princeton wraps up its string of six straight road matches with a game at Manhattan on Dec. 28.
