Women's Basketball Drops Tough Game To Penn, 71-57

PRINCETON, N.J. - Maureen Lane scores 23 points in the losing effort-- Maureen Lane led Princeton with 23 points, scoring 15 in the second half, but it was not enough Tuesday night as the Tigers (1-19, 1-6) dropped their 19th game of the season, 71-57 to Penn at Jadwin Gym.
Penn (15-5, 7-0 Ivy) was led in scoring by Diana Caramanico with 29 points and Julie Epton chipped in 13. The Quakers shot 65% from the field in the first half (17-26) and 53% in the second. Penn was perfect from the line in the first half going 4-4 and shot 75 % from behind the arc.
The Tigers struggled offensively in the first half shooting 39% (11 of 28) from the field and going 2-11 from the three-point line. The Tigers trailed 41-24 at halftime and opened the second with a 10-2 run to pull within eight but Princeton could not overcome the deficit.
Princeton will host Columbia on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7:00 p.m.
