Princeton Men's Swimming and Diving Holds Commanding Lead at H-Y-P Meet

PRINCETON, N.J. - Carl Hessler set a Princeton and DeNunzio Pool record with his win in the 200 fly on the first day of competition at the H-Y-P men's swimming and diving meet. His time of 1:45.22 beat the previous record by almost two seconds. The relay team of Jesse Gage, Mike Salerno, Nathan Rebuck and Jaimie Leahy also set a Princeton and pool record with their win in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:19.79. The Tigers won four of 10 events and lead Harvard 105-81and Yale 126-60. Harvard has the edge on Yale 121-65.
Hessler also had a second place finish in the 200 free (1:37.86) followed by Chris Cunningham in third place (1:38.38). Garth Fealey won the 100 breaststroke (55.16) and Gage (20.14) and Leahy (20.27) went one-two in the 50 free. Matt Keay (1:49.53) placed second in the 200 IM, Chris Cunningham was second (1:50.22).
