Princeton Splits Doubleheader With Coastal Carolina

CONWAY, S.C. - Princeton split a double header with Coastal Carolina taking the first game 18-8 and dropping the second game 7-2 on Saturday.
Max Krance went 6-for-7 in game one, tying the Princeton record for most hits in a game. Andrew Hanson tied the record last season with a 6-for-6 performance against Columbia.
Mark Siano got the win in relief (1-0). After giving up a two-run homer to Brandon Powell to tie the game 7-7 in the sixth inning, Siano struck out two and gave up one run on three hits in the final three innings.
Princeton scored eight runs in the ninth inning. The Tigers had six straight base hits and scored five runs before an out was registered.
Pat Boran's two-RBI single scored Hanson and Jon Watterson in the first inning of game two, but the Tigers recorded only two more hits in the 7-2 loss.
Starter Tom Rowland (0-1) struck out three and gave up five runs on nine hits in 4.2 innings pitched. Freshman Bruce Self pitched 1.1 innings in relief giving up two runs on one hit.
Princeton (2-4) will play another doubleheader with Coastal Carolina (13-9) on Sunday, March 18. The first game will begin at 2:00 p.m.
