Tigers Lose to Yale, 67-63

PRINCETON, N.J. - Despite a career-high 31 points from sophomore Maureen Lane, the Princeton women's basketball team could not pull off another win against Yale falling to the Bulldogs 67-63 Friday night at Jadwin Gym. Princeton's only win of the season came against Yale on Feb. 3 in overtime. The Tigers drop to 1-24, 1-11 Ivy while Yale improves to 9-17, 4-9 Ivy.
Lane led all scorers on 9-18 field goal shooting and went 8-9 from the free throw line. She hit 5 of 11 from behind the arc including back to back three's with 9:43 left to play to put the Tigers up 54-49. Lane then hit two free throws with 4:30 left extending Princeton's lead 59-53.
Kim Gahan's three-pointer and a lay-up by Helen Schutrumpf brought Yale within one. Yale scored four consecutive points before Lane and Jessica Munson sunk two free throws each to bring Princeton within one with 12 seconds to play. Lily Glick was fouled in the final seconds and made three free throws to give Yale the win.
Yale was led in scoring by Glick with 23 points and Schutrumpf added 13. Allison Cahill added 10 for the Tigers
Princeton will play its final home game of the season against Brown on Saturday, March 3 at 7:00.
