Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton men's golf team is in second place after the first day of the Princeton Invitational, which is being played at the Springdale Golf Club. Nat Hoopes leads the Tigers and is in a tie for fourth place with a first-round score of 70, as Princeton (290) is four shots behind St. John's (286). Greg Johnson and Cassidy Traub both shot 73, Peter McWhorter chimed in with a 74 and James Milam posted a 75.
Princeton's second team, which consists of John Nuger, Chris Connolly, Billy Butcher, Eben Harrell and Steve Edwards, finished the day 23 shots behind the leaders from St. John's.
Temple's Chris Bartolacci and Georgetown's Dan Giraudo are tied for the lead with opening-round scores of 68.
Princeton (1) tees off at 10:30 a.m. and Princeton (2) tees off at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.
